THE IDEA TO TAKE WITH YOU

A tracking answer should state the available facts, distinguish estimates, and explain the next step.

01

Set the verification boundary

Decide what a shopper must provide before your support channel reveals order information. Configure and test that process. Include incorrect details and a request for an order that belongs to someone else in your evaluation.

02

Explain what the status means

Use the available order and shipment information to give a plain-language update. A label being created is different from a carrier receiving the parcel. Avoid turning a carrier estimate into a guaranteed delivery date.

03

Plan for the exceptions

Test an unfulfilled order, multiple shipments, a missing tracking link, a delayed parcel, and a parcel marked delivered but not received. Set a clear route to a person when an investigation or a policy exception is needed.

04

Verify the full path

Check the verification step, the returned information, the links, and the handover. Review real conversations for repeated requests that suggest the answer did not help. Update both the support process and the customer-facing delivery information.
