Tell shoppers what they can ask, in a voice that sounds like your store.
Introduce the assistant clearly
Let shoppers know they are speaking with an AI assistant. Use the language and tone already present on your storefront. Keep the introduction brief enough to scan on a phone.
Offer a useful first move
A general store might say: ‘Hi, I’m your AI shopping assistant. Ask me about products, delivery, or your order.’ A store with a complex catalog might begin: ‘Need help finding the right fit? Tell me what you’re looking for.’ Adapt the invitation to the capabilities you have configured.
Keep the promise specific
Avoid claiming that the assistant can answer anything. Do not promise a live agent when your team is offline. Confirm that the suggested questions lead to useful answers and that a person remains easy to request.
Test the greeting in context
Check the widget on product, cart, and mobile pages. Watch whether people understand where to start. If you test variants, keep the audience and time window comparable and include conversation quality in the review.
