Track assisted outcomes carefully, and preserve the difference between involvement and causation.
Choose a customer problem
Start with a specific purchase barrier: understanding product differences, confirming compatibility, choosing a size, or checking delivery. Build a conversation that resolves that question before introducing a sales goal.
Design a useful recommendation
Ask for the requirement that changes the answer. Show a small number of relevant options and explain the tradeoff. Keep the shopper’s budget and the catalog facts in view throughout.
Define assisted attribution
Document how an order is connected to a conversation, the time window, and any exclusions. An order that includes an assistant-surfaced product may show involvement, but it does not prove that the assistant alone caused the purchase.
Evaluate the experience alongside the result
Review relevance, factual accuracy, working links, and follow-up questions. Where possible, use a controlled experiment to estimate impact. Keep promotions, traffic changes, and other influences in your analysis.
See the experience for yourself.
